Portraits
I view portraits as collaborations between the subject and the photographer.
I seek the moment when the subject reveals something deeply personal, something that is of the moment but that may transcend the moment.
I remember that the portrait transforms the subject from a three-dimensional form to a two-dimensional form, so that the subject and the subject photographed are different images.
I also know that the protrait may be of a different person all together, a fiction created in the process of photography.
